PETITION TO BYCOTT UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA

AMERICANS FOR FREE SPEECH

PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION TO BYCOTT UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA FOR TRAMPLING ON FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS

The cancellation of Chief Minister Narendra  Modi’s (Modi)  keynote address at Wharton India Economic Forum (Wharton) on March 23rd  has evoked a widespread consternation all over the United States of America and touched the deep cord among the  lovers  of Freedom of Expression and liberty of thought.

“Americans for Free Speech”,  a newly formed group   is in the process of  obtaining Police Permission  to hold a peaceful protest on South Street between 32nd and 33rd
Street in front of the main entrance of Penn Museum, Philadelphia  (where the conference is being held),  from 12:00 to 02:30 pm.

As a protest many financial sponsors and speakers have withdrawn their names from the conference.  This has brought ignominy and disrepute to Wharton.  It has caused turmoil, nervousness and embarrassment;   and exposed the malicious designs of those who have unleashed baseless and slanderous propaganda blitz against Modi.

Please spare a few moments and sign it.

PLEASE REGISTER YOUR PROTEST BEFORE MARCH 23, 2013 AND EXPRESS YOUR OUTRAGE AT THE CANCELLATION OF KEYNOTE ADDRESS BY HON. CHIEF MINISTER NARENDRA MODI

PLEASE REGISTER YOUR PROTEST BEFORE MARCH 23, 2013  AND EXPRESS YOUR OUTRAGE  AT THE CANCELLATION OF KEYNOTE ADDRESS BY HON. CHIEF MINISTER  NARENDRA MODI AT WHARTON INDIA ECONOMIC FORUM  (WHARTON)  ON THE  TEL. NOS. AND E-MAILS GIVEN AT THE END.

The news of the cancellation of Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s keynote address by Skype at Wharton India Economic Forum has sent shock waves all over the USA and caused immense emotional disgust, profound aversion and loathing among the lovers of freedom of speech in this country.

Under the banner of “AMERICANS FOR FREE SPEECH”, a group of distinguished community leaders and prominent University  Professors in the USA is working on a Memorandum to be submitted to Wharton for violation of First Amendment of our Constitution, stifling free speech and pandering to far left and radical Islamist elements.

At the moment  Shri Modi is the most popular, dynamic and charismatic Chief Minister in India.  According to a poll conducted by by Ipsos, 43%  respondents support Shri Modi for the post of next Prime Minister of India.  The Wall Street Journal says that more than 90% people oppose cancellation of Modi’s speech at Wharton.

Our economy is going down and India’s economy is on the upswing.   Hence the Wharton’s  decision is not only unwise and unsound but also seems to be  guided by political pressure and ideological bent of mind of the organizers.   This ill-conceived decision could seriously  impact on Indo-American relationship.

Commenting on this politically motivated decision which has undermined the credibility of Wharton and has brought ignominy and disrepute to it, Pam Geller,  Editor of Atlas Shrugs, Author of several books, President, American Freedom Initiative ( AFDI);  and Stop Islamization of Nations (SION)  in her recent article in Atlas Shrugs wrote that  “What a PR blunder.  Not sure what kind of a ‘business school’ Wharton management is trying to run when it chooses to invite Islamic bigots like Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi (who have nothing to do with Economics) over the world renowned Economic visionary and leader like Narendra Modi”.  (http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2013/03/wharton-
